Amazon Prime is a shake down scheme

AP is great when you have it- you order something, it's boxed up and shipped that same day.

Do you know what happens after you cancel Prime? You place an order and it will just sit in their system for 3-5 days before being filled. When it's filled, it's done by the same robots that work 24 hours a day, and still goes out the same way via First Class USPS- just without Prime your order sits in limbo for no apparent reason other than Amazon wants to punish you for canceling your Prime membership.

You know how I know this? Wal-Mart Online and B&H still do same-day, 2-day shipping without special "prime" membership. Many places do, actually. Amazon is not unique for their 2-day Prime shipping. The market will choose, and I choose to shop elsewhere, Amazon.

If you like their video service, great! Maybe that's worth $120/year to you. But paying extra for something that other places do for free is bullshit, and getting "punished" for canceling a service should be investigated. In 2018, there is no other reason an order would sit unfulfilled for days and days in the computer.

[edit] Whew, so many pro-Amazon people. Hey you know what? If you like Amazon, please continue to use it. Jeff Bezos appreciates your money. I'm just saying, people need to be aware that many other online retailers fulfill and ship orders as quickly as Amazon Prime, for less cost. That's all.
