Oh my god. I should’ve followed it.
I was texting this guy for a week before we went on our first date. He was so funny and cute over text that I couldn’t wait to finally meet him. We were planning our date and although I offered to drive myself, he insisted on picking me up. Fine, it seems romantic! I obliged.
Anddddd I was trapped on the worst first date ever. He joked about putting roofies in my drink and taking me back to his place. I was so uncomfortable after dinner that I hesitated going in his car. But he’s my ride... and I didn’t want to seem rude.
Thank god he was only joking about roofie-ing me and raping me.. BUT WHO DOES THAT??
Jesus Christ girls, I definitely should’ve driven myself. Even if it seems romantic for him to offer, wait for the second date at least.

Anyway if you made it this far, read the comments to this post!! They are legit and we can all take a moment to tell ourselves these things. REALLY tell it to yourself and follow it.
PERSONALLY I will never make this mistake again. I’m so glad I am ok, but I could’ve easily been hurt, touched inappropriately, or felt terrified for my life.
He seemed so normal over text but you NEVER KNOW.
