Let's get right to it. I have a friend who needed surgery and they're in the hospital recovering.
I work a block or so from the hospital, and decided to go visit him during my lunch break. All is well, I get a longer lunch break approved (an hour vs 30 minutes) and head on over.
I'm sitting there talking to him and laughing around when a nurse stepped in. Of note, the clinic I work at requires we all wear scrubs, standard nursing blue, with the company logo. Anyways, the nurse walks in and she starts bitching at me right away. We'll call her NB, nurse bitch.
NB: You need to get off your ass and get back to work, there are patients who need attention.
Me: Okay, but I - she cut me off and I never even got to tell her I didn't work there.
NB: No buts, get out of this room and back to work. You aren't being paid to sit.
Me, talking to my friend: She's right, and my lunch break is almost up anyways. Better get back to work! Feel better, man.
NB: That's more like it. Now, the patient in room 000 (don't remember which one) needs their cath changed and after that, Dr so and so needs help.
Me: well, I'm going back to work so have fun with that! Say hi to Dr So and So for me!
NB: That is your job, where are you going??
Standing up, I point out the the company logo on my scrubs and tell her that I work a block away at an unrelated clinic, I have never worked at this hospital before, and that she has some balls to talk to me like this. I
I push past her, tell her to have fun changing the catheter, and leave.
My friend messaged me a little bit ago and said everytime that nurse walks past, he asks how the catheter exchange went and she gets bright red.
TL;DR visited the hospital wearing my blue work scrubs, get mistaken for a nurse and told to change a catheter and help the doctor.
